My Otaku-ish Holiday

I just finished colouring Kirito’s clothes yesterday. My colouring is almost done now, and I can say that SAI is a far easier colouring tool compared to Photoshop. I think Photoshop is more practical for image editing, so I’ll to use it to make the lineart’s background once I’ve done colouring. You know, I find it really exciting to work on this stuff. Looks like I’ve been in love with digital colouring ever since I learned from the tutorial.

I can still remember the first time I used SAI. I practiced colouring an ordinary black and white image instead of a real lineart, and it ended up by turning into an eyesore :P. I didn’t finish it though, as I couldn’t stand looking at my own messy brush strokes!

Besides lineart colouring, I spent this holiday in watching animes. I don’t know why, but I’m more on animes compared to mangas lately. I finished watching Fairy Tail 3 last Tuesday. I haven’t watched the previous seasons, yet I can consider this anime as one of my favourites. I also watched Hyouka, Amnesia, Sword Art Online and Angel Beats! recently. Their fine animation is amazing ^^.

As what is listed above, it’s been quite long since the last time I read a manga—an online manga, to be specific. I paused reading Arisa and x Shina! (short for Watashi ni xx Shinasai!) for months that I forgot some parts of the stories… Perhaps I have to continue reading them soon or I’ll forget the entire stories—just joking, I’m not that forgetful!

Now that I’m in the last paragraph, seems that this post is mostly related to my otaku-ness… Anyway happy birthday to the author of x Shina!, Tooyama Ema-sensei!

The Four Final Boss

Everything feels like a game. We can’t get completely relieved after the school exams, which had just finished yesterday. They were like the semi-final boss that sets the minor subjects aside. They also lessens our burden before dealing with our masterful enemy on the last stage—no other than the national exams! I should have written the title this way:

Coming soon: the four final boss.

Hang on. So two months of keeping myself away from VBA and the other games (for exams sake, definitely) don’t keep myself off from my game-based paradigm, do they? Am I suffering from “gamesickness”?

All right, all right, no more silly thoughts… At least we’re free from those minor subjects now. Starting on Monday we’re going to study only the four major subjects: Indonesian, English, Maths and Science. And day by day, week by week, time will eventually bring us to the end.

To describe my feelings now, I’m right between independence and restlessness. Kind of glad to have only four subjects for one month ahead, as I love all those subjects. Yet the restlessness refers to the natural feeling I have every year, when I’m to proceed the next level. It somehow utters, “Congratulations, dear. You’re getting bigger now. Say farewell to your beloved class!” I personally can’t accept that, but I have to.

I can still remember my first time in 9B—the first time we gathered together as a class. Still quite unfamiliar with the classmates, I wondered, How will things turn out this year? Funny to think that everything is different now.

To all ninth graders, let’s unleash our power for the very final boss!

Slow but Sure

Still having the school holiday, no wonder if I have more time to write posts on these days. And not just blogging, I also have more time to continue my story—it’s the novel with the abbreviated title HSH as I mentioned in one of my previous posts. Only that the title has been changed to THW. Still in the second chapter, lately I just added a few paragraphs. But I recognized that my skill in writing increased; I was able to edit my previously-written text in that chapter, with some more descriptions to make the story clearer to the readers. So just like this post’s title, I believe I can make it till this novel ends. Slow but sure.

Beside updating THW, I also got an idea of making a short story last Tuesday. This new story tells about the school life of a boy named Steve (hey, this is my first time making a narrative with a male main character!), with cheating as the matter. Thanks to the magazine called MK a.k.a. Media Kawasan—I got the idea from its article about students’ bad habit of cheating :D.

Speaking of MK, it’s a free monthly magazine which I consider as my favourite magazine. MK contains a lot of helpful articles with many eye-friendly pictures. I enjoy reading the fiction since it usually tells interesting short stories. Above all, it provides the readers with lots of knowledge and inspiration. This magazine is perfect to me that I often reread the old issues during my spare time :).

Tomorrow is our last holiday. Luckily I’ve almost finished all my school tasks yesterday, so I can have more free time for today and tomorrow—only if I’ve done with the Matematika homework! 😛
